Humphrys Textile
Products is one of the oldest canvas and industrial fabric
products companies in the United States. It has been
in continuous operation since its founding in 1874 by
D.C. Humphrys. Early products included covered wagon
tops, awnings, and oiled horse covers.
The company now located in Southwest Philadelphia primarily
manufactures and wholesales tarps of all types, ball-field
covers, gymnasium floor cover systems, windscreens for
tennis courts and athletic fields, laundry bags for linen
and uniform rental companies, specialty bags and protective
covers, all types of truck covers, and especially truck
covers for the waste and refuse haulers. In addition
the company manufactures specialty items for the U.S.
Government including nuclear waste containment bags,
truck covers, and tentage type components. Humphrys also
wholesales the fabrics used in the above products to
small awning shops, other tent and truck cover manufacturers,
and large shipyards in the United States. The industrial
type fabric products are sold under the name Humphrys
- Textile Products. The athletic products are sold under
the name CoverSports USA, a wholly owned corporation. |
